Intercession Team
Our conference is sustained by prayer – the prayer of intercession (one of the five main forms of prayer). Prayer is a very powerful weapon and also very important in our Christian life. That is why we have set up an intercession team for our foundation.
On this page you will find more information about the intercession team, why intercession is so important and powerful and how you too can join this team.
What is the Intercession Team?
The intercession team is one of the most important parts of the Bidden en Vasten RK Foundation. In order to really do God’s will as a religious organization, we must also involve God in our work. Without prayer we can do nothing, because then we would do our work without God. In order to continue to do this, we have our intercession team.
The intercession team consists of (former) participants, (former) employees, (former) team members, people from the pastoral core group of the KCV and other people who have signed up or have been asked to do so.
What does the intercession team do?
The members of the intercession team pray for various points of prayer throughout the year. Sometimes the lead team asks to pray for specific prayer points, often in preparation for our conferences. But also at times when there are no specific prayer points they pray:
- For the preparations.
- To reach new participants.
- For the employees and team members
- For the conduct of future conferences.
- For bringing people on our path.
What exactly is this prayer of intercession?
The Church says the following about the prayer of intercession:
(CKK 2634) The intercession is a supplication that closely follows the prayer of Jesus. He is the one true intercessor with the Father on behalf of all men, especially sinners. He is “able to save forever those who approach God through his intercession, since he ever lives to make intercession for them” (Heb 7:25). The Holy Spirit himself “pleads for us . . . and intercedes for the saints according to God’s purpose” (Rom 8:26-27).
But also:
CKK 2635) Intercession, asking in favor of another, is from Abraham the mark of a heart attuned to the compassion of God. In the time of the Church, Christian intercession is part of the intercession of Christ: it is the expression of the communion of saints. In intercession, he who prays does not “care for his own interests, but rather those of his neighbors” (Phil. 2:4); this goes so far that he also prays for those who harm him.

Good God,
We thank you for the foundation Bidden en Vasten RK. We put the conferences completely in your hands, because it is your project! Will you bless the conferences, may it be a beautiful time, a time full of you. Lord, will you help the team and bless the preparations to go well. May the team, by listening carefully to your voice, set up a great program together with you. We also pray for all participants, that they may have a very nice time and come back on fire for you! That they can go back into the world, knowing what their identity and destiny are.
We also pray for those who still have doubts. Give them a sign and show them if they should participate.
We ask You, pour out Your Holy Spirit on the conference, that Your Spirit may be tangible present.
We ask You for blessing and guidance through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Wat houdt dit gebed van voorspraak precies in?
De Kerk leert het volgende over het gebed van voorspraak:
(CKK 2634) De voorspraak is een smeekgebed dat nauw aansluit bij het gebed van Jezus. Hij is de enige echte voorspreker bij de Vader ten gunste van alle mensen, van de zondaars in het bijzonder. Hij is “in staat hen die door zijn tussenkomst God naderen voor altijd te redden, daar Hij altijd leeft om voor hen te pleiten” (Heb. 7, 25). De Heilige Geest zelf “pleit voor ons (…) en Hij pleit voor de heiligen naar Gods bedoeling” (Rom. 8, 26-27).
De Kerk leert ons verder:
(CKK 2635) Het voorspreken, het vragen ten gunste van een ander, is vanaf Abraham het kenmerk van een hart dat is afgestemd op het medelijden van God. In de tijd van de Kerk maakt de christelijke voorspraak deel uit van de voorspraak van Christus: het is de uitdrukking van de gemeenschap van de heiligen. Bij de voorspraak “behartigt” hij die bidt, niet ” zijn eigen belangen, maar liever die van zijn naasten” (Fil. 2, 4); dit gaat zo ver dat hij ook bidt voor wie hem kwaad doen.
Standaard gebedspunten:
- Voor de voorbereidingen.
- Voor de deelnemers.
- Voor de conferenties.
- Voor het kernteam en alle andere teams (voorbedeteam, pastoraat etc.).
We willen u dus oproepen om voor ons te bidden. We hebben het hard nodig!
U kunt bidden voor vaste punten, die we hieronder noemen. Of u kunt ook in de WhatsApp-groep komen voor up-to-date intenties, wees welkom! Ook hebben we een officieel Bidden & Vasten RK gebed dat u regelmatig kunt bidden.

Dat het team door goed naar Uw stem te luisteren, samen met U een mooi programma mag opzetten.
We bidden ook voor alle deelnemers, dat ze een hele mooie tijd mogen hebben en weer in vuur en vlam voor U komen te staan!
Dat ze weer terug de wereld in mogen gaan, wetend wat hun identiteit en bestemming is.
